Qatar passes 'night vision' test.

The first ever grand prix to be held at night will take place at Qatar on March 9th, 2008, after a special 'night vision' test was passed without problem.
Moto GP
Barely two months after the announcement that next season's MotoGPcurtain raiser would be run under floodlights, subject to approval from the Riders' Safety Commission, a successful test at the Losail International Circuit on Monday evening gave the project its final approval.

Five MotoGP riders were present at the night test, which took place at 7:30pm at the circuit on the outskirts of Qatar's capital city Doha. Loris Capirossi (Suzuki), Marco Melandri (Ducati), James Toseland(Yamaha), Anthony West (Kawasaki) and Alex de Angelis (Honda) all did several laps of the circuit and were unanimously in favour of next season's race taking place in the dark.
Moto GP
"It's going to be so exciting to race under floodlights," said MotoGP veteran Loris Capirossi. "The difference from when we first tested here at night [in 2006] is amazing. Back then I wasn't too sure what was possible, but the lighting is perfect out there! There's hardly any difference between day and night riding in these conditions, and of course it's going to be more exciting to race at night. There's no problems with shadows or reflections, I'm very happy with this."

Ecclestone: I'll quit if Lewis wins title

Sport's ringmaster says he will retire should British rookie be handed the crown on appeal.
Formula1
Bernie Ecclestone has threatened to walk away from F1should McLaren-Mercedes' appeal against the decision not to disqualify the BMW-Sauber and Williams' cars from last month's Brazilian Grand Prixprove successful.

The four cars in question were all investigated in the wake of the season finale, and discovered to have been running illegally cool fuel during the race. The stewards in Interlagos, however, resolved not to throw them out of the results – a move that would have handed Lewis Hamiltonthe crown, and one which the Briton's McLarenteam has elected to challenge.

The matter has consequently been passed on to the FIACourt of Appeal, which will now meet in London at 10am on Thursday – having been moved from its original venue of Paris – where the destination of this year's Formula 1World Drivers' Championship will finally be confirmed.

Ferrari slams rival's 'grubby' legal moves.

If Hamilton is handed the title in Court of Appeal, it will be bad for the sport, Maranello insists.
Ferrari
Ferrari's lawyers have hit back at McLarenas the FIAInternational Court of Appeal hearing into the ‘illegal fuel' issue gathers pace, insisting it would be ‘a serious injustice' should Kimi Raikkonenbe deprived of his world drivers' title in a London courtroom.

What's more, the Scuderia suggested the sport itself would be badly harmed should the judges come down on McLaren's side and move Lewis Hamiltonup the finishing order in the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prixby disqualifying the BMW-Saubers and Williams' from the results.

“It would be highly damaging for the sport if the title were to won this way,” news agency Reuters quotes the Italian team's lawyer Nigel Tozzi as having told the court, “with the fans probably feeling it was more about grubby manoeuvring by the lawyers than skill behind the wheel.
Ferrari

“It would be a serious injustice to Mr Raikkonen were the championship to be taken away from him. As McLaren have always said, the championship should be decided on the race track and not in the courtroom.”

Having lost out on the crown by a sole point to Raikkonen in a dramatic final outing at Interlagos, Hamilton could yet inherit the title if Nico Rosberg, Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica are thrown out over the fuel controversy – with the fuel in their cars having been measured as being too cool in the wake of the Brazilian Grand Prix, thereby handing the drivers a theoretical advantage.

However, even if the drivers concerned are disqualified, it would still be up to the stewards' discretion as to whether to promote Hamilton up the order or not, with the Brit himself having stressed he does not wish to win the championship in this manner.

In response to comments from McLaren that they were not appealing in order to clinch the title through the back door, but rather to gain a clarification over the rules, Tozzi argued if those remarks were not truthful they would condemn members of the team as “shameless hypocrites devoid of any integrity”.
Along with representatives from both BMW-Sauber and Williams, Tozzi reasoned McLaren's case was inadmissible in the first place because the team had not been an interested party in the stewards' initial enquiry and had not appealed against the race classification.

BMW's lawyer Ian Meakin also alluded to ‘naked opportunism' on McLaren's part while suggesting that, even if the appeal were to prove successful, the maximum penalty for the two teams should be no greater than a fine

Ferrari SUV

After rumors about a Lamborghini SUV, is now time to talk about a future Ferrari SUV. And even if Ferrari is about supercars, it seems that company has finally decided that they need a SUV in their line-up. Maybe the conclusion came after Lamborghini decided to built one, or maybe after seeing the success of the Porsche Cayenne, but, in any case the SUV is on its way and will be launched sometime in 2010.

The 2010 Ferrari SUV will be placed (regarding its dimensions) between the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and BMW X5, so this means it will have a length of approx 4.6 meters and will weight around 5000 lbs due to the use of high tech materials

Ok, both of cars are lightweight version of both companies' cars and both cars have the naturally aspirated engine.

996 GT3 RS performance equalled that of 360 CS, both of them being the older versions of the two cars above.

So, which car do you think is a faster track monster? (Without personal preferences)
